• Virtual Management Database™ - New and updated management information for vSphere environments is discovered and tracked in the EVM VMDB™, providing a comprehensive virtual management repository combining virtual infrastructure, storage, network, VM, snapshot, software, settings, patches, service packs, accounts, services, events, performance, access, relationship and genealogy. Changes are tracked in real-time to ensure that the VMDB is always current and up to date.
• Delegated Administration/Distributed Operations – EVM extends vSphere and vCenter with fine-grained visibility, control and delegation of operational and administrative activities. Delegation of visibility, control and automation is automatic, based on fine-grained classifications using patent-pending SmartTag™ technology.
• Self Service – EVM provides precise and secure self-management for vSphere environments, including delegation of VM provisioning, lifecycle management and operational activities based on fine-grained classifications. • Resource Utilization and Capacity Planning – EVM provides resource utilization tracking for vSphere environments, including detailed visibility and reporting by SmartTag™ classifications for resource usage allocation, chargeback and “showback”. Classification-based analytics, capacity planning, and trending and forecasting, as well as monitoring and alerting, are supported.
