Red Hat's $104 million acquisition of New Jersey–based ManageIQ substantially expands Red Hat's hybrid cloud management portfolio and positions the firm to offer customers a comprehensive approach to managing multivendor, multihypervisor environments. IDC believes Red Hat will quickly merge ManageIQ's automated infrastructure provisioning, discovery, and monitoring technologies with the existing Red Hat CloudForms self-service cloud broker and middleware provisioning functionality to create a unified enterprise-scale automation and monitoring solution optimized for heterogeneous hybrid clouds.
